Glenn Maxwell Mental and physical fatigue: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is looking bad in the Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024) this year too. At the same time, the team has suffered another setback in the middle of the IPL. RCB’s star all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has taken an indefinite break from IPL citing mental fatigue. Maxwell requested for ‘mental and physical break’ from the RCB management, which was accepted.
After this match, RCB remains the lowest team in the IPL points table after losing to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on 15th April. It has remained the lowest team in the IPL by registering only 1 out of 7 matches. Maxwell’s departure is also a big blow for this franchise.

“For me personally, it was a very easy decision,” Maxwell said after RCB’s sixth defeat in seven matches. After the last game, he went to Faf (du Plessis) and the coaches and said that I think maybe now is the time. It’s time to try someone else, I think it’s time for me to give myself some mental and physical rest. Now is the time to heal the body.
Maxwell further said, ‘In this IPL season, we had a huge gap immediately after the powerplay, which was my strength in the last few seasons, I felt like I was not contributing to the team in a positive way with the bat. Because of this, our table (point table) is also in bad shape. I think this is a good opportunity for another player to showcase his game, with this someone else can make his place.
