‘Win the booth, win the election…’, BJP’s new plan to increase the voting percentage in Lok Sabha elections – BJP to activate Booth committee and Panna Heads to increase voter turnout ntc factobox

BJP, conscious of lower turnout in the first phase of Lok Sabha elections as compared to last time, will now strengthen its booth management to increase the voting percentage in the coming phases. The party will activate booth committees and Panna Pramukhs to motivate voters to leave their homes and go to the booths to cast their votes. In the first phase of Lok Sabha elections, 61.11 percent voting took place on eight seats, whereas in the year 2019, 66.41 percent voting took place on these seats.

BJP, which has set a target of winning 80 seats in Uttar Pradesh, is laying a lot of emphasis on booth management. For this, the party has formed a booth committee at every booth and one voter from every house will be identified through the voter list at every booth. The party will also try to motivate groups of booth committee members and workers to motivate voters to come out of their homes in groups so as to increase voting in favor of the BJP.

On the day of voting, party workers will also check the booth at regular intervals to see how many voters are left to cast their votes. On that basis they will be requested to vote. Panna Pramukhs will also be instructed to motivate people to vote while enduring the heat. Panna Pramukh has been appointed for every page of the voter list. It is the responsibility of the Panna Pramukh to regularly contact and communicate with the voters of the concerned Panna and motivate them to cast their vote on the polling day.

Along with this, BJP Kisan Morcha will also go among the farmers in the villages and request them to take out some time and vote despite being busy in harvesting wheat. On the other hand, BJP is holding a conference of booth presidents in every Lok Sabha constituency, which is being addressed by Deputy Chief Minister to state government ministers and state officials of the party.

The issue of low turnout in the first phase of elections was also discussed in the BJP State Core Committee meeting held at the official residence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday. Reasons behind this were said to be heat and wheat harvesting. There was also discussion about increasing voting in the coming phases. BJP will now emphasize on further activating the booth committees.

The party is working on activating booths in this Lok Sabha election on the lines of Panchayat elections. On this matter, BJP spokesperson Rakesh Tripathi said that BJP is the only party which prepares for elections at micro level. The work of motivating voters to vote in elections is done at the grassroots level by assigning responsibilities on every page of the voter list. On the lines of ‘win the booth, win the election’, BJP is in the fray with full strength in this election.”
